Industrial activity in January-May 2021
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in May 2021, industrial production (gross series) increased by 11,6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, against the background of the decrease of production in May 2020 compared to the corresponding month of 2019 by 12,9%. The increase in production in May 2021 is due to the increases in the extractive industry (+ 17,6%), in the manufacturing industry (+ 11,4%) and in the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (+ 12,3%), generating the increase of production on total industry by 0,5%, 10,1% and 1,0% respectively.
